MAKING TURNS

If possible, keep slight slack in tethers.

To turn to one side, VERY GENTLY tighten the tether on that side while telling student to turn that direction.

To stop, gently pull on both tethers.

RIDING LIFTS

With the straps unhooked from the retractable tethers, there is nothing you need to do.  You have your hands free to help your student get on and off the lift.

WHOOPS A FALL

Release the brake and approach the student, letting the tethers fully retract.

Lock the brake and release the tethers.

You are now free to use both hands to assist the student.

STARTING SKIING

Hook one retractable tether to each strap.

Hold the tether handles in the hand corresponding to the students foot.  Don't cross the tethers.

Let the student slowly slide away, braking the tethers as necessary.

Once the tethers are fully extended, lock them into place.

AFTER SKIING

At the end of a run, simply detach the tethers from the straps and store the tethers in a pocket.

If it's the last run of the day, detach the straps from the lower leg and don't forget the hot chocolate!!
