Proper Form

In control skiing requires the weight of the skier to be forward, over the tips of the skis.  First Turns encourages proper weight distribution by allowing the instructor to control the student's speed by applying uphill pressure to the student's boots.  This teaches the student muscle memory of keeping the weight forward even when slowing down.

Easy to Use

The large handled retractable tethers are made specifically for use with gloves or mittens.  The tethers are most effective fully extended, giving the instructor control, but allowing the student space to maneuver.  One button brake operation stops the tether from being extended or locks the tether at a given length.  The tether automatically retracts making stopping and storage clean and easy.

Connecting and Disconnecting

At the beginning of the day, the elastic straps are placed around the student's upper boot.  The straps can remain on until it is time for the boots to come off.  When it is time to start downhill, the tethers are simply buckled onto the straps and you are ready to go.  When it is time to ride back up the magic carpet or chairlift, simply unbuckle the tethers.
